Rev. Samuel Harding
In the year 1832 Rev. Samuel Harding was involved with Elder Chauncey Butler in founding the First Baptist Church in Franklin, IN.
At the organizing meeting to constitute the church Rev. Harding served as the clerk while Elder Butler served as the moderator.
The first pastor of that church, Elder Samuel Harding, lived near Smiley's Mill in Shelby County, Indiana, and came to preach at the Franklin church for the ensuing four years.1
